If your storage shed has been damaged during Hurricane Sandy, we can offer you an itemized quote for the cost of a replacement shed. This will help you with your insurance claim, and it is something that we do quite often.

There is no cost for us to provide you with an itemized cost for a replacement shed. Insurance companies have different claim submission standards, so check with your homeowners insurance on what would be needed to submit a claim to replace your shed.

You can visit us online at www.FoxSheds.com to view all of the styles that we build here at Fox’s Country Sheds. You can also call us directly at toll free (877) 257-4337 (or 717-626-9560).

We would like homeowners in the New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania areas to know that we deliver storage sheds and pre-fabricated garages throughout the Atlantic and East Coast area and can build and deliver a replacement shed to you in a quick manner.  Contact us directly for more information or for an itemized quote for a new shed for your damaged property.

We’ve been busy getting ready for a swinging 2012 – and just because it is January does not mean that shed builders are sitting on their laurels doing nothing!  We are slightly redesigning the popular Manor Shed to bring you a Heritage-style design.  Both, the Manor and the Heritage are sheds in the Estate Series offered exclusively by Fox’s Country Sheds.

We are in full production here at the Fox Den – a.k.a. our shop – and our crew is busily building stock sheds for our shed dealers to place on their lots once a busy spring season hits.  Of course, we are open year-round, and you can order your Manor Shed now.  Why wait for Spring when the backlog is huge?

Here are some photos of our new Manor Shed – an Estate Series Shed by Fox’s Country Sheds that will truly enhance your upscale property.

Fox’s Country Sheds not only builds sheds, but also specializes in prefabricated or built on site single and 2-car garages.  Many of our customers prefer the prefabricated buildings that we deliver completely assembled.  When we deliver a pre-built two car garage, most often it is delivered in two pieces and the final assembly is done on site where the two halves are joined together.  Other customers of ours here at Fox’s Country Sheds prefer to have their garages built ‘on site’ which means that we will come to your location and erect the structure.  Most times this is when the municipality will only offer zoning approval for a concrete floor garage or poured footers as a foundation. Many times we will need to do a build-on-site if there is no access for a fully assembled structure to be delivered, such as lack of driveway space or other obstacles.

Fox Sheds can build a garage for you either way, whether pre-built completely or built on-site.  Below are a few photos of a custom “build on site” that was done for a customer in New Jersey.  We often have customers from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia contact us about building a garage or shed, and of course we deliver what they need!

Be sure to scroll through the slideshow of a custom 2-car garage with a concrete floor, which was “built on site” for our New Jersey customer:

Well, let’s say that now that you have your backyard storage shed – you need to put things away in it in an organized manner.  And keep it that way.  Sometimes that is easier said than done.  Here are some ways that Fox’s Country Sheds suggests that you can organize your tools and equipment in your backyard storage shed or garden shed.

Used Crates:  Do you have any old wooden or plastic crates lying around?  Bet you never thought about stacking them securely and using them as storage

A wall of crates creates a unique storage solution for your shed.

cubicles.  Take a look at the photo on Design Squish that uses stacked crates to create a wall of storage.  You can easily adapt this use in your garden shed as well.   This makes an ideal solution for keeping garden equipment separate from household tools.  One crate can keep open bags of grass seed safely contained while another can keep power tools out of reach of youngsters.  Use your imagination and space in any way that they will fit alongside the walls of your shed.  The nice thing about this solution is that you can use as many or as few as you have room for, depending on the size of your shed.

Pegboard Wall Storage:  Another idea to keep garden shed tools organized is to install a wall of pegboard.

This is available as an option on all of the sheds and garages available at www.FoxSheds.com.  You can always paint it to create a cheery interior, as shown on this photo from Martha Stewart.

This month, September 2010, Fox’s Country Sheds is offering a FREE ridgevent with any shed purchase of 8×12 or larger. Mention this offer to any Fox’s Country Sheds sales rep to receive your free ridgevent!

Not sure what a ridgevent does or if it is needed on your shed?  Below is an interesting article on how a ridgevent works when installed in your home.  The principles are the same for why a ridge vent is important in your shed.

A ridgevent, when properly installed, will allow the hot air that collects to escape as it rises in your shed (hot air rises!).  Since sheds are generally not as tall as homes, there isn’t a whole lot of area for the hot air to collect, making some sheds too hot to want to spend much time in there.

Allowing the hot air to escape will also extend the life of your shingles, something that we highly recommend even though the shingles used by Fox’s Country Sheds in each and every building are all 30-Year shingles.  Hot, moist air collecting under your roofing sheathing is not very healthy for your shed.

Along with the hot air, a ridgevent will allow fumes from your gas powered lawn equipment to escape.  So, if the hot air doesn’t bother you too much, consider the fumes collecting in your backyard shed from your lawn tractor.

A ridge vent is particularly important to include when considering options for your shed when you will be using your structure as a Garden Office or Workshop.  In this case, you may even consider upgrading to vented soffits along with a ridgevent for a fully ventilated shed or garage.

To learn more about ridgevents, read the article below.  And to order your 8×12 shed with a FREE ridgevent during the month of September 2010, click on our website at www.FoxSheds.com .
